T.J.Davies & Son is a family run business, situated in the popular seaside and university town of Aberystwyth. It is widely regarded as one of the finest Jewellers in Wales. Customers travel from far and wide to visit, some as far as Hollywood!
The Jewellers shop, was founded by Titus John Davies. Born in Pencader, he received his training at Cecil Jones optician and jewellers in Llandysul and then Aberystwyth. In 1948 he bought Winstanley and Hughes’s business and T.J.Davies was opened at 10 Terrace Rd. Titus’s wife, Annie Felix Davies, who had been running a successful sweet shop as well as The Pioneer, Bed & Breakfast, established The China Shop at 10a Terrace Rd soon after.
Their son John Davies and his wife Ann Davies went on to expand both shops by moving The China Shop to 16a North Parade in 1985 and then in 1990 The Jewellers moved to 11+13 North Parade. John and Ann’s energy and enthusiasm has been instrumental in building the reputation that the business now enjoys.
